TriRanga Darshana

blog counter

Sri Govindaya Namaha!!  Om Sri Ranganathaaya Namah! Om Namo Narayanaaya! Om Namo Venkateshaaya!
Vaishnavas consider the Triranga Darshanam as most valuable and significance when done between the Sunrise and sunset.
TriRanga means visiting 3 Ranganatha temples in a day.  The 3 Ranganatha temples are AAdhi Ranga, Madhya Ranga  and Anthya Ranga.   AAdhi Ranga is the Sri Ranganatha Swamy at SrirangapatnaMadhya Ranga is the Sri Jaganmohana Swamy    at Shivanasamudra and Anthya Ranga is the Sri Ranganatha of Srirangam at Trichinapalli/Tirchy.
It is believed that if we are able to complete the Darshana of the three Ranga Kshetra’s on the belt of cauvery ,located in South India in a single day, you will have have the blessings of a Brahmānda Darshana

Temple Timings at srirangapatana

We drove from Bangalore the previous day and stayed in Mysore. Next day early morning after bath at home, we started to srirangapatanam at 4AM and we were there at the temple by 4:45 AM. The temple was open as it was dhanurmasam and we got the first darshan quickly. By 5 AM we were blessed and we were back in our car.

Madhya Ranga:

                                       Madhya Ranga at Shivanasamudra

We continued our drive to Madhya Ranga and reached by 7:25am. When we arrived at Madhya Ranga, the temple was open as it was Dhanurmasa and not much rush. The Darshan was very peaceful and we were happy to have completed the two Ranganatha darshans. We continued our journey to the Anthya ranga by 8 AM.
The Priest encouraged us and told us that we could reach srirangam by 4:30 PM and can definitely complete the TriRanga Darshanam on that day.

We reached Tirchy by around 4pm with 1 hour break for lunch and 2 pit stops. The sign boards once we reached TamilNadu was all in Tamil .We trusted the google maps to guide us and also double checked at a few places to see if we were driving correct. We reached the yatrinivas in tirchy and got refreshed and drove to the temple which is around 1.5kms from yatrinivas. We reached temple by 5:30 PM .As  it was a public holiday, the rush was too much and I never expected that the crowd would be soo much.  There were approximately more than 2 Lakh people in queue waiting for the darshan. The darshan is extremely difficult in SriRangam or I felt so because there is no separate queue for infants/Senior Citizens/ Expecting Mothers. Tirumala is much better and well organized - its my personal opinion. The temple campus is very huge and there are chances that kids If not held properly may be missed – however there is an office for announcements/lost/found etc. As I had an infant and she was crying very badly, the policeman helped me move inside the temple queue, but again inside the temple the queue was bigger than what it was outside. My kid and I managed to request the people along the queue and get the darshan in nearly 1-hour 30 mins. However, my parents and spouse were in queue, which took them 3 hours. No wonder it is called Brahmanda darshanam – really accomplishing all 3 in a day is a challenging task I felt especially with my infant.

By around 8:30 PM we all met together and took the last aarti of Thayaar. This was so wonderful experience with loud music and 5 types of aarti – it was really a beautiful treat to our eyes. Please do not miss this event if you are around that time in the temple. It is a wonderful experience.

Later we bought the prasadam that was being sold at the temple counter to get energized.

We returned to yatrinivas and rested that night in Trichy. This ends the Tri-Ranga Darshanam.

However we still continued our trip to cover Tanjore and Pondicherry and returned back to Bangalore.
